In August two single glassy-winged sharpshooters were found in two different counties in Northern California.
The first was found on August 9th, on a trap in the city of Sutter Creek in Amador County. The second was found on August 23, on a trap at a residence in the city of Fremont in Alameda County.
In response, both of the counties’ Agricultural Departments conducted delimitation surveys around each find with no additional signs of GWSS found to date.
GWSS delimitation protocols require additional traps and inspections around the new GWSS finds for four weeks. Finding no additional GWSS during that time indicates there is no infestation in the area.
